Elvira Barjau - Actor, Singer, Dancer, Producer, Recording Artist

 

       Elvira Barjau has been a proud member of Actors' Equity Association since 2004, as an Actor/Singer/Dancer. She has performed extensively in Los Angeles, New York City, and througout the world, in Musical Theatre, Cabaret, Broadway/Pop/Rock revues and as a Headliner. Some of her past leading and supporting roles include: Camila in In The Heights, Marian Paroo in The Music Man, Anita in West Side Story, Helene in Sweet Charity, Gigi and Ellen in Miss Saigon, Cinderella in Into the Woods, Lady Larkin in Once Upon A Mattress, Phyllis Dale in 42 Street, and Marty in Grease; for - amongst others - Reprise! Broadway's Best, Westchester Broadway Theatre, Musical Theatre West, South Bay Civic Light Opera and Cabrillo Music Theatre. She has also performed in numerous productions for Royal Caribbean Cruises and Princess Cruises. Elvira had the honor of sharing the stage with some of her musical influences, including Manhattan Transfer, Natalie Cole, and Maureen McGovern.

Elvira has been honored with a BROADWAY WORLD AWARD Nomination for BEST CABARET ARTIST for her self-produced cabaret, Feelin' Good, presented by Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal in North Hollywood, California.

On February 14, 2012, Elvira Barjau celebrated the accomplishment of a childhood dream, by  releasing her self-produced debut album, so this is LOVE (Available on iTunes and all major online retailers.)

Elvira is a proud alumna of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Her studies at Berklee included Voice, Jazz and Contemporary Singing and Music Business Management. She is also a proud alumna of Los Angeles Unified School District's Hamilton High School Academy of Music. Elvira's love and appreciation for Jazz and Musical Theatre began at Hamilton, under the instruction of very talented music and musical theatre teachers.

Elvira is currently writing her first play.
