Elvira Barjau - Actor, Singer, Dancer, Producer, Recording Artist


      As a member of Actors' Equity Association since 2004, Elvira has performed extensively in Los Angeles, New York City, and throughout the world in Musical Theatre, Theatrical Plays, Cabaret, Broadway/Pop/Rock revues and on Cruiseships.  Some of her leading and supporting roles include: Camila (In The Heights; Broadway World Nominee for Best Supporting Actress), Mrs. Frank and Mrs. Van Daan (The Diary of Anne Frank), Helene (Sweet Charity), Gigi and Ellen (Miss Saigon), Marian Paroo (The Music Man), Anita (West Side Story), Cinderella (Into the Woods), Lady Larkin (Once Upon A Mattress), Phyllis Dale (42 Street) and Marty (Grease).  She has also performed in numerous productions for Royal Caribbean Cruises and as Guest Entertainer for Princess Cruises.  Elvira has produced, and performed, concert cabarets as a headliner for cruiselines and for top Los Angeles Cabaret venues, for which she has received Broadway World nominations for Best Female Cabaret Artist.  She has also had the honor of sharing the stage with some of her musical influences, including The Manhattan Transfer, Natalie Cole and Maureen McGovern. In 2012, Elvira released her debut album, “So This Is Love” – available through online retailers and streaming services.

Currently, Elvira is a working Stage, Commercial, Television and Film actress in Los Angeles. When not acting, Elvira is also a professional photographer (www.elvirabarjau.zenfolio.com), as well as a professional singer who workshops other artist’s new works. She is also currently working on new musical arrangements for her second album and new headliner concert/cabaret shows.

Taking on a new passion project, Elvira is the Founder ­of Music Angels, a non-profit organization that is of service through music, supporting causes and events that benefit humanity and community through arts and culture.

Elvira is a proud alumna of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Her studies at Berklee included Voice, Jazz and Contemporary Singing and Music Business Management. She is also a proud alumna of Los Angeles Unified School District's Hamilton High School Academy of Music. Elvira's love and appreciation for Jazz and Musical Theatre began at Hamilton, under the instruction of very talented music and musical theatre teachers.
